Moon is a jack of all trades and master of experiences. Working full-time in the IT Networking field, Moon served as the Director of Information Resources for a governmental agency. Political activism was a kind of parallel career for Moon, who is the first Asian American (of DuPage County, Illinois) who got elected, twice, as Trustee of York Township (2005- 2012). In his run for DuPage County Recorder, he collected about 170,000 votes in 2016.

Moon’s next dimension is entrepreneurship, especially in real estate development. A licensed real estate consultant, he manages several investment properties.

However, last but important, he is also an author. In 2021, he wrote his memoir, which was co-authored by his son, Shaan Khan. Ganga To Mississippi – Walking With The Rainbow is available on Amazon, both in India and in the United States.

A prolific writer, motivational speaker, and contributing columnist of several ethnic newspapers, Moon has been widely profiled and quoted in the major mainstream and ethnic news media that include the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Daily Herald, Daily Southtown, Islamic Horizon, India Tribune, Editor and Publisher, Asian Week, Daily Chronicle, Lombardian, Lombard Spectator, Rashtriya Sahara, and Hindustan Times.
